The CRTA Laboratory was established and developed to support the research activities of the AGR/10 scientific sector in the field of “Rural buildings and agroforestry landscape”, these being carried out according to a multi-disciplinary and integrated approach. Main research themes are:
- Rural landscape analysis, interpretation and planning, by the use of advanced tools for the survey, mapping and management of spatial data; specific attention is given to the land resources and elements characterizing agricultural and forestry landscapes;
- Study and research on building facilities serving agricultural,
forestry and agroindustrial activities; valorisation of the architectural rural heritage, both modern and historical, in the ambit of strategies promoting a multifunctional and integrated use of the rural space;
- Research on agricultural and forestry infrastructures
Research activities
- Geomatics applied to the agro-forestry landscape to develop landscape evaluation-models integrated into spatial decision support systems
- Sectorial specialistic research and and implementation of technical tools to perform and support landscape planning and management
- Territorial infrastructure (dotted, linear, areal) networks (i.e.: ecomuseums, greenways, agrifood markets, etc.)
- Environmental studies;
